Position title:
Asset Management Analyst
Reports to:
Director, Asset Management
Hours:
Monday-Friday, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, exempt role
Location:
In-office in NE Washington, DC
Compensation:
$65K-$100K based on experience, eligible for bonus
This role supports the Director of Asset Management to ensure investor reporting is accurate, timely and accessible by our investors and Principals, and that requests for information are responded to effectively and professionally. Responsibilities include: pulling information from several software systems; developing a strong understanding of UIP’s online and offline filing systems; creating and checking reports; working on spreadsheets; maintaining various corporate accounts online; budgeting; and traveling to properties, city offices, and other local locations, as needed.
By performing the following functions, the Asset Management Analyst helps to ensure investor satisfaction and that requirements are met in compliance with relevant laws and regulations:
Complete monthly reporting requirements and financial analysis
Manage annual reforecast, budgeting requirements, and business plans
Review commercial contracts and residential leases
Assist with commercial CAM/Operating expense reconciliation and estimates
Maintain list of all property licenses and ensure all property licenses are up to date
Maintain list of all property energy benchmarking and ensure all annual energy benchmarking reports are filed with the District of Columbia
Satisfy TOPA requirements and/or other governmental jurisdiction requirements at sale of or interest transfer in a property
Assist with filing the annual income and expense reports with the District of Columbia
Assist with ensuring that all entities are in good standing with their respective jurisdictions (annual and two-year reports)
Oversee/assist with letters and mailings to residents, investors, or other parties, as needed
Handle all other requests from Director with regards to third- party requests (Lenders, Property Management, Accountants, Brokers, Lawyers, Appraisers, etc.)
Support Senior Asset Management Associate, VP Asset Management, and Principals on an as-needed basis
Maintain utility management software, Conservice (energy) – product owner (w. energy)
Qualifications and skills:
Four-year degree in Finance, Business or Real Estate with 4 plus years’ workplace exposure to financial statements (preferably in multi-family real estate investment and/or accounting)
General understanding of financial statements and basic accounting principles
Ability to look beyond the accuracy of numbers to more fully analyze them and gain a more complete picture
Communicate effectively and professionally using Word, Excel, and Outlook
Pay strong attention to detail – accuracy is extremely important in this role
Prioritize and multi-task effectively
Able to handle large data setsWork well under pressure and react quickly to issues and problems
Demonstrate consistent follow through and be able to follow procedures
Work well independently and as part of a team
Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Provide excellent customer service to our investors and internal customers
