Senior Employee Relations Advisor
This position is for a partial remote role in Galveston, Texas, United States. The job falls under the business, managerial, and finance categories at UTMB Health. The minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of professional human resources experience, including two years of experience in employee relations. A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or other Human Resources-related certification within one year of hire is preferred. Previous health care or academic HR experience is also preferred.
The job summary involves providing advanced-level consultation, guidance, and direction in employee relations to institutional leadership, assigned employees, and internal as well as external customers. The duties include providing advice, guidance, and technical support to institutional leaders in assigned departments, drafting and reviewing disciplinary documents, administering and interpreting human resources policies, and mentoring team members. The role also involves conducting internal investigations, diagnosing and analyzing root causes of work environment issues, managing the annual performance evaluation process, facilitating staff reassignments, and minimizing unemployment costs.

The salary range is actual salary commensurate with experience. The work schedule is partial remote, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and as needed on occasion.
