Objective
Responsible for developing and preparing artwork for fabrication, primarily for cast sculptures at UAP production sites. The role focuses on refining projects into production-ready assets through digital sculpting, CAD modelling, 3D scanning, pattern work, and preparation for casting and fabrication. Coordination includes in-house finishing processes and collaboration with third-party vendors.
This is a temporary full-time position covering for an employee on family leave through August 2026. The expected duration is approximately 9 months, with a potential opportunity for continued full-time employment after the leave period ends, depending on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Support artworks through all project phases, in coordination with Project Team and Consultants.
Sculpt, scan, and develop pattern strategies digitally for cast artworks in stainless steel, bronze, aluminium and other materials.
Ensure design intent is translated into production-ready formats.
Prepare print-ready 3D files, part identification, mounting, and assembly drawings.
Work closely with fabrication, foundry, and consultant teams to coordinate design development, casting, and finishing methodologies.
Communicate with internal project teams and occasionally with clients regarding project goals and progress.
Monitor project execution to ensure design, quality, and client expectations are maintained.
Contribute to and expand the company’s knowledge library, sharing valuable insights with team members
Qualifications
Experience or familiarity with metal casting processes
Comfortability and/or expertise modelling with Rhino 3D required
Familiarity with Rhino layouts and drawing sets a plus
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Grasshopper, understanding of benefits of procedural workflows
Comfortability and/or expertise sculpting in Z Brush required
Experience with 3D printing software and workflows a plus
Familiarity with or willingness to learn 3D scanning a plus
Familiarity with or willingness to learn SolidWorks a plus
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, or lift up to 10 pounds.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
