Compensation Case Western Reserve University provided pay range: $40,334.00/yr - $51,023.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and communicate the unit’s strategic goals and priorities, including event news, alumni and student success stories, faculty research, and more, to the Central Annual Giving team (40%).
Provide support with alumni, volunteer, and donor identification, qualification, cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship (25%).
Assist with the planning and staffing of development and alumni relations events (15%).
Oversee special projects requiring research, data analysis, and communication with donors, university officials, trustees, faculty, and friends. Develop briefing materials for donor meetings and assist donor proposal development (10%).
Collaborate with the Central Annual Giving team to ensure the success of crowdfunding activities such as Day of Giving and Giving Tuesday, including creating collateral like video appeals (10%).
Assist other staff as needed for overflow work and backup duties.
Contacts & Supervision
Daily contact with the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office, CAS Development and External Relations team, and related stakeholders.
Frequent contact with Central Annual Giving and Development Services Offices, Alumni Relations Office, and university leadership as required.
Continuous contact with donors, friends of the university, and the Case Alumni Association.
Supervise one or more student workers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) plus 1–3 years of post‑undergraduate experience in relationship development and management, or high school education with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in higher education, development, events, alumni/donor relations, project management, sales, or volunteer programs preferred.
Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
Required Skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Project coordination and event planning experience.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
High sensitivity, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential information.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office, including Excel and social media tools; ability to learn new systems such as Ellucian CRM Advance.
Excellent telephone and face‑to‑face communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage conflict, solve problems, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Reliable attendance and commitment to the university’s values, mission, and messaging.
Working Conditions The role may require occasional evening and weekend work (e.g., Homecoming, alumni events) and daily computer use. Ability to lift 50 lbs. over at least 25 ft. is required. The position is eligible for the staff hybrid work program.
