We are seeking somebody who is outgoing, passionate, personable, and ready to be the dedicated Catholic Charities Outreach Coordinator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our outreach efforts by engaging with the community, managing volunteers, and facilitating development programs. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote our mission.
Duties
Familiarize yourself with agency volunteer opportunities, especially the shelters
Outreach and Community Engagement
Conduct presentations and represent the agency at community events, parish gatherings, service groups, and partner organizations throughout Southern Minnesota
Support awareness and fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the Development & Outreach Director, including:
Annual Appeal (Agency-wide)
Baby Bottle Campaign (Child & Family Services)
Share the Warmth Campaign (Shelters)
Christmas Campaign (Agency-wide)
Other campaigns as needed
Approach area businesses for sponsorship, donation, or matching opportunities
Build and maintain relationships with parish staff and community leaders to encourage volunteerism and support
Catholic Charities In-Kind Donation Coordination
Stay informed about in-kind donation needs across programs
Field calls and emails regarding in-kind donation inquiries, referring monetary donation inquiries to the Outreach & Development Director
Distribute donations to designated programs or locations
Complete and forward donation forms to accounting
Complete thank-you notes when donor information is provided
Communications Support
Capture photos and stories at volunteer and outreach events for use in agency communications
Assist with social media (Facebook, Instagram) and seasonal newsletters by providing content and updates
Contribute to the internal agency newsletter as assigned
Donation and Data Management
Enter and verify donation records in donation database
Scan and organize donations in donation database
Assist in preparing thank-you acknowledgments for donors
Coordinate with supervisor on donor engagement and communication follow-ups
Confidentiality and Professional Conduct
Maintain strict confidentiality of donor and volunteer information
Represent Catholic Charities with professionalism and integrity in all interactions
Follow chain of command and seek clarification before initiating new efforts to ensure alignment with agency mission
Other Duties
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Development & Outreach Director
Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education
Experience coordinating volunteers, community outreach, or engagement efforts
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the agency with integrity
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota
Flexible, self-motivated, and collaborative approach to team and community work
Familiarity with and comfort engaging Catholic parishes in Southern Minnesota
