Medication Assistant, Certified - FT Day Location: GSS ND Lakota Ctr, Lakota, ND 608 4th Ave SW, 58344, USA.

Shift: 12 Hours – Day Shifts, Full Time, 40 hours per week. Salary range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour, plus a $5,000 Sign On bonus available.

Job Summary: The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as a caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. The MA delivers age‑appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per plan of care. Duties include bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital‑sign monitoring, psycho‑social support, transfer assistance, and passive range‑of‑motion exercises. The MA assists with food preparation, meals, and snacks, provides water and supplements, administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, documents outcomes, communicates changes in condition and medication follow‑up, collects non‑invasive specimens, performs housekeeping and laundry, and encourages participation in wellness and recreational programs. May participate in committees and task forces as needed.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED (preferred but not required).

Minimum age of 18 (preferred).

Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long‑term care preferred.

Successful completion of yearly competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits; minimum 12 hours annually.

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if required.

State‑specific certifications, including CNA and medication aide/assistant courses as required in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and all Good Samaritan and Sanford facilities.
