Overview Reports to:
Real Estate Loan Center Manager
Functions Supervised:
None
Primary Functions:
Originate real estate loans.
Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure members are provided timely and accurate information on the credit union's real estate loan programs, handle member inquiries related to real estate or mortgage loans.
Answer all incoming calls as necessary pertaining to real estate and mortgage lending. Provide backup in the telephone queue.
Maintain current in-depth knowledge of real estate lending regulations, policies and guidelines. Maintain current general knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, policies and guidelines.
Originate applications for in-house real estate loans.
Manage a pipeline of up to 15 active loans, closing 5-7 loans per month. Consideration will be given to the market conditions in slower seasons and minimum pipeline and closed loan requirements may be adjusted downward at management’s discretion.
On approved files, work closely with the real estate loan processor throughout the loan origination and approval process to clear loan conditions in a timely manner, ensuring a smooth and efficient closing experience for the member.
Act as primary contact for borrowers for communicating loan decisions and status updates.
On declined files, advise the borrower of the decline and issue refunds, returning documentation as necessary.
Promote Global Credit Union real estate programs and cross-sell credit union services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, with advanced industry courses in real estate lending.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education:
One year responsible real estate lending experience or one year experience in comparable member service position. Advanced industry courses in real estate lending recommended.
Experience/Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. A thorough knowledge of all aspects of real estate lending including all applicable laws and regulations.
Tenure:
Real Estate Loan Center Originator II (Category 12) requires 12 months in the Real Estate Loan Center Originator I (Category 13) position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
Compensation Salary Pay Range:
Real Estate Loan Center Originator I (Category 13): $49,284 - $73,391 annually
Real Estate Loan Center Originator II (Category 12): $53,226 - $81,405 annually
Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.
In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
