The Residential Sales Engineer specializing in high‑end residential and light commercial systems to join our growing team. This technical sales role combines advanced HVAC system design expertise with consultative sales skills to serve discerning clients seeking premium comfort solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven HVAC sales experience and have or be eager to expand their expertise into specialized systems including hydronic heating, geothermal technology, and other high‑efficiency solutions.
Responsibilities Technical Sales & Design
Perform detailed load calculations using Manual J methodology
Specify and size premium HVAC equipment including geothermal heat pumps, hydronic systems, and high‑efficiency traditional systems
Create detailed system proposals with technical specifications
Present complex technical solutions to homeowners, architects, and builders
Project Management
Coordinate with installation teams, subcontractors, and vendors
Manage project timelines from initial design through system commissioning
Ensure quality control and customer satisfaction throughout project lifecycle
Manage complex sales cycles
Handle change orders and project modifications
Professional & Business Development
Participate in continuing education and product training programs
Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, and high‑net‑worth homeowners
Generate new business through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships
Qualification Experience & Education
3‑5 years of direct sales experience with documented success, including a record as a strong
Technical education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred
Preferred
Experience with hydronic heating systems and / or geothermal heat pump technology
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Manual J load calculations and Manual D ductwork design
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and architectural plans
Understanding of hydronic system design principles
Knowledge of geothermal heat pump systems and ground loop design
Familiarity with construction process, industry codes and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HVAC design software
Strong sales intuition with high integrity
Excellent communication and rapport‑building abilities
Strong problem‑solving skills and curiosity for learning
Results‑oriented with ability to balance customer value and company profitability
Self‑motivated team player with professional demeanor
Professional Requirements
Current Oklahoma driver's license with clean driving record
Must be insurable for company vehicle
Ability to work in various weather conditions and job site environments
Physical capability to access crawl spaces, attics, and mechanical rooms
