Electrician Job Description The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in private homes and residential buildings. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers in residential properties.

Diagnose electrical problems and provide effective solutions.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications.

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on residential electrical systems.

Collaborate with homeowners, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time.

Provide clear communication and excellent customer service.

Essential Skills

Valid electrician’s Journeyman license or certification, or 5+ years of experience as an Electrician.

Proven experience as a residential electrician.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency with electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.

Strong understanding of residential electrical codes and standards.

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.

Time management and organizational skills.

Work Environment Work indoors in residential homes with a team consisting of 2 Journeymen and 2 Electrical apprentices. Maintain a clean and professional appearance with work gear. Regular working hours are from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with no after‑hours service calls. Travel up to 1 hour from Madison, WI.

Job Type & Location Permanent, full‑time position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72,800.00 - $104,000.00 per year.

$200 tool stipend per year

$150 educational stipend per year

Do not offer health, dental or vision at this time – may work in a stipend for this as well.
