Job Summary/Description WMBF News in Myrtle Beach is searching for a motivated and dynamic producer to join our award-winning news team. Producers are newsroom leaders responsible for their own newscast and for making content decisions and confirming information for the entire newsroom. A successful candidate will adapt quickly to breaking news, work well in a team, be a strong writer, and have a passion for storytelling.
Responsibilities
Develop and produce a newscast, including writing, story selection, showcasing, and editing.
Be available for severe weather coverage.
Write newscast segment scripts using AP style.
Contribute story ideas during daily editorial meetings.
Perform other newsroom tasks as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
College degree in journalism, mass communication, or a related field.
At least one year of news‑producing experience.
Team‑oriented with the ability to reflect on work and apply feedback.
Ability to work long hours, weekends, holidays, and overnight for breaking news and specialized coverage.
Ability to work quickly and multitask under deadline pressure and during breaking news.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible with day‑to‑day roles in the newsroom.
Experience with ENPS and non‑linear editing software (EDIUS) is a plus.
