as an Assistant Bakery Manager!

Responsibilities
Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
Monitor incoming cases for damaged items.
Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of bakery product.
Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and verify that other Bakery team members are also aware of and following these procedures.
Support a fast‑paced environment and assist as needed.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years of retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience.
Be dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Have an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment.
Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed, and use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
Be able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift, transferring trays up to 5 lbs. and items up to 40 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
