The role On behalf of the company, we are seeking a Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and lead a network of independent manufacturer representatives across North America. This role blends sales leadership, new business development, and project management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both the strategic and hands‑on aspects of sales. Based near Chicago, this position requires about 50% travel (domestic and occasional international).

The Sales Manager will play a key role in expanding market share, nurturing customer relationships, and strengthening the company’s reputation as a trusted partner for technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

Lead and support a team of independent sales representatives to achieve growth targets.

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across target industries.

Partner with customers to understand technical needs and position tailored solutions.

Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.

Contribute to APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and ensure alignment with customer requirements.

Develop and execute sales strategies to grow top‑line revenue year over year.

Report on key KPIs, including sales opportunities and customer engagement metrics.

Collaborate internally across functions to ensure smooth project execution and outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of proven success in B2B sales within a manufacturing or technical product environment.

Experience managing independent sales reps or distributors.

Strong track record in new business development and customer retention.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred.

Ability and willingness to travel 50%, both domestically and internationally.
