Responsibilities
Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals”.
Provide a high level of customer service and ensure Deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness of the Deli department area.
Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment, cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills and removing hazardous debris.
Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
Qualifications
At least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field (or acceptable combination of education and experience).
Dependable and reliable.
Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
Physical ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. horizontally or vertically, 4" to 60" and up to 20 ft. distance for up to 4 hours, stand continuously for up to 4 hours per shift (8 hours total).
Perform general housekeeping, cleaning and sanitizing work area.
Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment safely, maintaining all equipment in safe working condition.
Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit.
Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
Other related duties as assigned.
