Tessera Aerospace Manufacturing
is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Assembly Operator II to join our production team. This advanced‑level role performs complex structural and mechanical assembly operations using hand tools, presses, and precision measuring equipment. The ideal candidate will follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to produce high‑quality components while contributing to a safe, clean, and collaborative manufacturing environment.
Typical Duties
Assemble production parts using drill press, rivet press, arbor press, manual mills, and hand tools
Install and swage bearings; bond parts using adhesives or sealants per customer specifications
Operate honing equipment to size holes for bearing installations
Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure product quality
Self‑inspect work to identify and mitigate defects
Promote “clean as you go” practices and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness
Use mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) to verify build accuracy
Maintain dimensional tolerances using torque wrenches, fixtures, and gauges
Participate in team activities to improve manufacturing producibility
Support AS9100 audits and ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015/AS9100D standards
Train and mentor assemblers and other employees as needed
Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the production floor
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required; Technical Certificate is preferred
1+ years of previous experience in Aerospace or Commercial Manufacturing is required
Combination of previous experience and education will be considered
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, shop routers, and visual specifications
Familiarity with aircraft nomenclature and configuration is preferred
Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and product acceptance criteria is preferred
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills are highly preferred
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
Requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances. A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted for this position
