Your Specific Responsibilities

Certify clients for participation in the WIC Program in accordance with State WIC office policies and regulations.

Provide nutrition education to low, high, and medically high‑risk clients in the Ocala Clinic and, when required, to outlying clinics.

Provide assessment, nutrition education, counseling, and breastfeeding support to clients using approved materials and formats, assist clients in goal setting, evaluate progress, and document in SOAP format in FL Wise.

Accurately complete reports and data entry into EARS, HMS, People First, and FL Wise System by required deadlines.

Deliver services efficiently to assure smooth clinic flow and even caseload distribution; follow sanitation, safety, computer, and phone use policies.

Attend staff meetings, professional and staff development activities; complete required state and WIC trainings and maintain certificates.

Participate in preparation and presentation of in‑service trainings, bulletin board displays, and other activities as assigned; may present nutrition programs to healthcare professionals and community organizations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Develop high‑risk care plans.

Knowledge of the science and current practice of nutrition and dietetics.

Knowledge of nutrition and diet assessment techniques.

Analyze and interpret anthropometric, biochemical, and clinical data.

Plan, organize, and coordinate work activities.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (or Master of Science) in Nutrition or Dietetics.

Valid driver’s license.

Willingness to travel to clinics using own vehicle.

Florida license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

Preferred: Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration.

Experience completing nutrition counseling, assessments, and writing nutrition care plans.

Bilingual (preferred).

Experience with FL‑Wise application.
