Communications Coordinator (Junior)
to provide day‑to‑day coordination and integration support for Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) strategic integrated communications activities under the MODES III contract. This role supports Task 2 Outreach and Engagement services by enabling cross‑directorate collaboration, tracking messaging alignment, coordinating meetings and forums, and maintaining communications documentation and artifacts.
The Communications Coordinator supports senior communications staff by ensuring execution continuity, documentation accuracy, and timely follow‑through across campaigns, quarterly planning activities, and outreach efforts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational consistency across MC&FP communications initiatives.
This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities
Provide coordination support for MC&FP strategic integrated communications activities.
Assist with cross‑directorate collaboration by tracking messaging alignment and shared communication objectives.
Support execution of outreach and engagement campaigns by monitoring action items, milestones, and deliverables.
Coordinate meetings, forums, and working sessions, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and meeting notes.
Track follow‑up actions and ensure timely closure of assigned communication tasks.
Maintain communication artifacts, documentation repositories, trackers, and reference materials.
Support quarterly communications planning activities and status updates.
Assist with preparation and organization of communications reports, briefings, and governance materials.
Ensure documentation accuracy, version control, and adherence to established communication processes.
Support continuous improvement of communications workflows, templates, and coordination procedures.
Qualifications Clearance Requirement
Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust from any federal agency.
Education (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience (Required)
Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting communications, public affairs, outreach, or related coordination activities.
Experience supporting integrated communications, stakeholder coordination, or campaign execution.
Experience working in structured federal, DoD, or public‑sector environments preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Required:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Familiarity with collaboration platforms, document repositories, and tracking tools.
Understanding of basic communications workflows, planning cycles, and documentation practices.
Preferred:
Experience supporting strategic communications or outreach programs.
Familiarity with reporting, dashboards, or campaign tracking tools.
Exposure to Agile or iterative planning environments.
Certifications
Required:

Public relations, communications, or marketing‑related certifications
Skills
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Attention to detail with consistent follow‑through.
