Your Role We’re hiring a bright cross‑channel Media Planner to manage day‑to‑day planning responsibilities. The Planner leans into strategic media plan development and is responsible for speaking to the holistic plan narrative, including tactical details and campaign performance. A successful Planner is resourceful, organized, energetic, and a strong communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced industry and can handle multiple projects simultaneously.

This role requires proximity to New York City. We offer a hybrid work arrangement, with a combination of onsite work and the flexibility to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

The Planner maintains and grows a foundational knowledge of both online and offline media channels.

Collaborates with Investment, Redbox (Analytics) and Strategy team members to ensure actionable audience insights are incorporated into strategic recommendations.

Manages weekly status calls and serves as the main point of contact with clients.

Manages client budgets and upkeep of flowcharts to maintain holistic media plan accuracy.

Monitors the pulse on changing media and client trends.

Collaborates on tactical presentations with the Investment team, assuring a clear story and approach built around the strategic presentation.

Masters tools such as Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO, and NMI, and questions data and usage rigorously.

Acts as the first ‘gatekeeper’ and reviewer for Assistants’ work.

Articulates a strong understanding of quantitative media strategy elements—media mix, channel role, reach & frequency, flighting strategy, etc.

Fully comprehends client business objectives and the role media is meant to play in accomplishing them.

Proactively encourages media + creative integration through cross‑agency presentations and timelines.

Develops holistic, strategic media plans in partnership with Supervisors and Directors.

Understands target audience behaviors & drivers and works with Investment to translate those qualities into actionable segments.

Successfully interrogates tactical plan details to ensure strategy pull‑through.

Understands media metrics beyond the basics, including layers of quality and effectiveness.

Encourages thinking outside of the box.

Develops strategic media POVs for clients.

Participates in training programs to enhance professional growth.

Mentors Assistant Planner; provides ongoing feedback and reviews to guide growth.

Displays a high level of personal dedication and motivation.

Positively contributes to our culture.

Troubleshoots team issues and concerns.

Builds esprit de corps through strong team communication.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree.

2‑3+ years of experience in media planning at an ad agency.

Ability to juggle multiple client projects, responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent analytical and math skills.

Capable of working independently and managing projects from start to finish.

Experience mentoring junior team members.

Takes initiative in acquiring new skills and handling workload.

Professionalism and confidence in working with vendors, team members, and clients.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Salary range $62k – $75k. Compensation is determined on the skills, qualifications, and tenure of the applicant.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
