Job Overview As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will collaborate to develop, implement, and create comprehensive communications and visual design projects for the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC). The role supports the design, implementation, measurement, and optimization of marketing and communication deliverables and programs that align with institutional and state sponsor priorities and organizational goals. Additionally, the specialist will provide executive communications support, assist GRC employees with visual design and accessibility requests, coordinate research communications workflow, apply advanced design software knowledge, and manage project materials, digital assets, and events.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and create comprehensive communications and visual design projects for the GRC.
Support the design, implementation, measurement, and optimization of marketing and communication deliverables and programs.
Assist GRC employees with visual design and accessibility requests and coordinate research communications workflow.
Apply technical and in-depth design software knowledge and project management practices to enhance project materials, digital assets, and events.
Manage effective delivery of communications internally and externally, including executive communications support for faculty and staff across Ohio’s Academic Medical Centers.
Convey complex or difficult information in an accessible manner.
Minimum Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent (required). • Minimum of two years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree (required).
Preferred Qualifications
Two to four years of visual design experience.
Excellent project and process management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with varied constituencies.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of Digital Accessibility standards.
Additional Requirements Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre‑employment physical, including a drug screen. Final candidates may also be required to undergo a drug screen or physical during the post‑offer process.
