Position Overview
The Director of Credit and Collections lead the credit and collections team, overseeing all processes related to customer credit management, collections, and cash flow optimization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of credit operations, while mitigating risk and supporting the company’s financial health. Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor team handling credit evaluations, accounts, and collections. Develop strategies to reduce DSO and improve cash flow. Monitor payment trends and manage delinquent accounts. Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain internal financial controls. Conduct internal control testing and implement process improvements. Collaborate with finance and accounting for accurate reporting and analysis. Assess and mitigate credit risk for petroleum and construction portfolios. Ensure regulatory compliance, audits, and tax obligations. Stay current on industry best practices in credit management. Partner with leadership on long-term credit and collections strategies. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and optimize working capital. Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and financial results. Promote high-performance culture through mentoring and training. Apply professional certifications to enhance team capabilities. Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred. 7+ years of experience in credit and collections leadership; 20+ years in accounting and finance preferred. Strong expertise in strategic planning, GAAP reporting, internal controls, cash flow management, and compliance audits. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Proven ability to lead teams, optimize financial operations, and mitigate risk. Benefits
