Technical Architect – Salesforce Federal Delivery (Cleared)
Location: Remote/Hybrid (US-based, DC Metro Area). In‑person expectations include visits with customers, Salesforce offices, and to Thunder offices in Tysons Corner, VA.
Employment Type: This is a contingent role based upon a successful bid award.
Role Summary: The Federal Technical Architect is a hands‑on technical leader responsible for the comprehensive design, development, and governance of high‑impact digital transformation solutions. This role bridges the gap between traditional Public Sector Solutions (PSS) and the modern AI era, utilizing OmniStudio, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. Working with Solution Architects, you will lead the architectural strategy for Agentforce, implementing autonomous AI agents to streamline Federal service delivery. As the ultimate owner of technical quality, you ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with Federal mandates (FISMA, FedRAMP, Section 508).
Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end technical strategy for large‑scale PSS projects, ensuring seamless orchestration between Service Cloud (case management), Experience Cloud (constituent portals), and Marketing Cloud (automated journey‑based communication).
- Architect and deploy Agentforce solutions to automate complex Federal workflows, leveraging Data Cloud and LLMs to provide intelligent, compliant constituent interactions.
- Design secure, scalable integration architectures between Salesforce Government Cloud and external Federal legacy systems using REST/SOAP, OAuth, and SAML, adhering to NIEM standards.
- Serve as the principal technical liaison between development teams and Federal stakeholders (ISSOs, EAs), mitigating risks related to performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Own the CI/CD strategy for a complex multi‑cloud environment, ensuring automated deployment pipelines meet stringent Federal DevSecOps and change management requirements.
- Lead a team of developers through rigorous code reviews, promoting "security‑by‑design" and minimizing technical debt across all Salesforce clouds.
- Stay updated with the latest Salesforce trends—including Government Cloud Plus, Service Cloud, and Agentforce—to provide innovative solutions for Federal clients.
Qualifications
- 8‑10+ years of Salesforce development/architecture experience, with 5+ years specifically in Federal/Public Sector programs.
- Proven experience architecting solutions that span Service Cloud and Experience Cloud. Familiarity with Marketing Cloud integration (Connectors, API) is highly preferred.
- Practical understanding of (or experience with) Agentforce, Einstein 1 Platform, and/or Data 360.
- Strong understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, and Section 508/WCAG compliance.
- Proven ability to lead development teams in an Agile (Scrum/SAFe) environment.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive‑level presentation skills.
- Strong strategic planning, governance, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex programs in cleared delivery environments.
- US Citizenship required.
- Active Secret Security Clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Required Certifications: Salesforce Certified Application Architect and System Architect.
- Preferred Certifications: Salesforce Certified AI Associate, Data Cloud Consultant, Salesforce OmniStudio Consultant, and/or Developer.
