Maintenance Assistant

to help keep our building safe, clean, and running smoothly for our residents and staff. What You'll Be Doing

Assisting with general maintenance and light repairs (plumbing, electrical, painting, etc.) Responding to work orders and requests with a positive attitude Upkeeping the building and outdoor areas Supporting event setups that bring joy to residents Ensuring everything is safe, clean, and up to code Working closely with a team that values respect, teamwork, and care What We're Looking For

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our policies and procedures, and as directed by the supervisor, to ensure a successful maintenance program. Essential Duties

Follow maintenance schedules as outlined for the respective shift or area Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine resident-area tasks Perform other related duties as directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator Protect resident privacy; do not disclose protected health information and report suspected violations Attend departmental and staff meetings as directed Perform tasks according to daily work assignments File complaints/grievances with your supervisor Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions per policies and procedures Perform routine maintenance on grounds and facilities (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical) Clean windows and screens as directed Replace burned-out light bulbs and maintain lighting as needed Service heating and cooling units/systems per manufacturer instructions and policies Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed Ensure maintenance supplies are replenished in work areas Maintain facility and equipment for resident comfort Report equipment malfunctions promptly Follow safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment Assist others in lifting heavy equipment or supplies as directed Store and clean equipment properly at the end of shifts Maintain confidentiality of resident care information including PHI Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure Inform residents when it is necessary to move personal possessions Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisor responsibilities. Qualification

Education and/or Experience Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education Language Skills Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism; interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public Mathematical Skills Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions Physical Demands Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Prolonged use of a computer. Regularly sit, stand, walk, and communicate. May assist in resident evacuation during emergencies Work Environment Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
