A Day In The Life As a valued member of our team, you will support individuals with disabilities by coordinating daily activities and encouraging active participation in our Adult Day Support and Respite programs. Your natural people skills will shine as you build strong, respectful relationships with teammates and the individuals we serve. Responsibilities And Duties
Delivers purposeful age‑appropriate activities and supports for participants.
Implements activities using specified training techniques and interventions, related to, but not limited to, developing participant social interaction skills, personal hygiene training, motor skill coordination, and activities.
Collaborates with other staff within Day Support and Respite programs.
Administers medications to participants as required.
Ensures participants are engaged in activities and offers choice to participants.
Treats all participants with dignity and respect.
Learns safety procedures and how to correctly use belts and straps in vehicles.
Displays teamwork daily with peers.
Compensation And Mileage Reimbursements
The DSP Floater position is compensated at one hourly pay grade higher than a Direct Support Professional.
Milage Reimbursement
Beginning the day at a remote location: staff member is reimbursed for mileage from home base to the assigned location and back, provided the distance exceeds the normal commute.
Traveling from home base to a remote location after reporting to home base: staff member is reimbursed for mileage from home base to the assigned location and back. At shift end, if the distance to their residence is less than the normal return trip, no mileage reimbursement is made.
SOAR365 updates the mileage reimbursement rate in accordance with IRS guidance.
Requirements And Qualifications
High School / GED graduation required.
One year of experience working with persons with disabilities preferred.
Medication Administration certified or will obtain within 60 days of starting date and maintain certification throughout employment, completing continuing education and recertification requirements as defined by SOAR365 in a timely manner.
