Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as an ARRT Radiologic Technologist. This role involves providing essential patient services using advanced radiologic imaging equipment, creating detailed exam records for radiologist interpretation. Opportunities to assist in other medical imaging areas may be available with additional training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain schedule flexibility, punctuality, and availability while working effectively under pressure. Communicate complex information clearly, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently. Provide personal care and safe patient transfers, demonstrating proficiency with adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards. Exhibit strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Handle confidential materials in compliance with corporate policies. Participate in performance improvement initiatives as directed. Keep patients and their families informed about exam status and respond promptly to patient requests. Perform radiologic services according to departmental policies and regulatory guidelines, accurately interpret physician orders, assist in maintaining records, and ensure patient safety.
Education
Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is required.
Experience
At least six months of experience as a registered radiographer is preferred.
Certification and Licenses
Current registration as a Radiographer (ARRT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required. Candidates eligible for registry must attempt within 30 days of hire and pass within 90 days. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is also required.
Mental and Physical Requirements
Close mental and visual attention for extended periods is necessary. The role often involves working under stressful conditions due to patient needs and critical situations. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, carrying or lifting up to 35 pounds, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping. Ability to transport oneself throughout the department is essential.
Working Conditions
Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation may occur. The position requires availability for scheduled or on-call shifts, including various days and times to ensure effective service delivery.
