Job Summary As a Cannabis Advisor, you will serve patients and customers with friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast‑paced retail environment, ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations while promoting the wellness benefits of cannabis products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a positive, welcoming attitude while greeting customers and patients.
Act as an advocate of cannabis customer care, providing a respectful and educational experience.
Help customers and patients navigate the products and educate them on usage as a wellness product (without providing medical advice).
Build rapport with regular customers to promote repeat business.
Collaborate effectively with team members in a dynamic retail setting.
Provide accurate information on product types, methods, and efficacy.
Engage in ongoing cannabis education and training.
Offer support to managers and fellow Advisors as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation and storefront.
Verify and ensure accuracy of online orders prior to pickup.
Apply detailed compliance regulations required by local and state laws.
Stock, merchandise, and replenish display inventory of regulated and unregulated products.
Complete transactions at the POS and ensure METRC, BioTrack, or other state‑monitored inventory systems accurately update product availability.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1‑2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
Required to undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging as directed by state ordinances.
Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
Ability to use office equipment (computers, printers) and associated software such as Word, Excel, and email.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications None specified.
Physical and Mental Demands The employee frequently remains in a stationary position while moving, communicating, operating equipment, and handling packages up to 20 lb. The employee stands up to 90% of the time. The job requires normal hearing and vision, with or without correction, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is a retail setting with moderate noise levels.
