Job Description
Perform duties to devise methods for machining parts, prototypes, and short run jobs.
Work from drawings, process sheets, table charts, and verbal instructions.
Perform prototype work, difficult machining operations, and short runs. Other duties will involve drill and endmill sharpening as well as issuing tooling.
Draw, sketch, construct, alter, repair, make tool tryouts, diagnose and correct problems.
Adapt cam, jury rig fixture, or tooling to handle special and short run jobs. Perform diversified, internal, external, surface grinding operations on prototype, short run, and the like following standard practice or special instructions.
Use precision measuring instruments and equipment of the trade. Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties. Detect, report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
Maintain work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
Follow all safety practices; maintain safety features on all machinery.
Perform other job related duties as required or directed.
This position will require expertise in CNC turning and milling.

Mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently, or as a part of a team with internal and external partners
Communicates effectively with written, oral, and verbal direction
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years tool making experience at a manufacturing company or closely related industry preferred
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
Compliance Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
