HVAC Mechanic – Trinity Health Of New England

Position Purpose Install, service and maintain all refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heating equipment in accordance with standard trade practices, applicable codes and safety regulations. Respond to HVAC/Refrigeration calls on a continual basis and work on complex problems that may involve modification and partial redesign of an HVAC or refrigeration project.
What You Will Do
Perform various duties to operate, maintain and repair equipment to provide heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration.
Install pipes, fittings, fixtures and controls for new installations of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation equipment and systems.
Repair HVAC and Refrigeration Systems/Equipment.
Troubleshoot HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
Contribute to the productivity and efficient operation of the Engineering Department.
Demonstrate dependability in job performance and contribute to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the hospital.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent plus formal training in refrigeration, heating and air conditioning. Training in electronic/electrical/pneumatic controls is required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in installation and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems and operations, including digital and pneumatic controls. Familiar with air balancing equipment and procedure.
State of Connecticut HVAC License is preferred.
Ability to resolve complex problems requiring the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles and in-depth, experience‑based knowledge.
Ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions.
Ability to read and write English.
