Position Summary: The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering, maintaining, and updating a variety of data points in electronic systems. This role also supports daily department tasks such as monitoring email inboxes and creating or updating spreadsheets. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to follow established procedures, and capable of exercising limited independent judgment as needed.
Key Responsibilities: Operate data entry devices to record or verify standard and complex coded or uncoded business and statistical data. Maintain and update spreadsheets and other electronic records. Monitor department email boxes and respond as needed. Perform daily departmental administrative tasks in accordance with pre-established guidelines. Follow instructions from supervisors while exercising some independent judgment to accomplish tasks. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-5 years of experience in data entry or a related field. Proficiency with typing (WPM), keyboarding speed/accuracy (KSPH), and 10-key entry. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in data entry and office administration. Ability to work under general or immediate supervision, reporting to a supervisor or manager. Attention to detail and a certain degree of creativity and problem-solving required. Skills & Competencies:
Strong typing and 10-key skills Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines Strong organizational and time-management skills
