Scope of this Position Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Senior Sales Manager – Entertainment will focus on educating travel professionals, tour managers, production executives, corporate bookers and planners, field publicity teams & company travel planners on The William Vale, moving market share from our competitors, and uncovering new entertainment industry opportunities with travel to Brooklyn, NYC. Through effective relationship building and account management, they will ensure the highest levels of guest service and ongoing client satisfaction. It is vital that they are creative, energetic, and knowledgeable professionals, as they will play a fundamental role in the hotel's ongoing success.

General Responsibilities

Attain assigned goals tied to the hotel's overall performance. Solicit and secure new accounts and entertainment group business.

Solicit, engage, and develop relationships with people in the Entertainment Industry to secure business and groups in alignment with the property's commercial strategies.

Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure sales efforts are coordinated and not duplicated.

Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, tradeshows, etc.

Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.

Entertain clients and hotel guests on the property as directed by the Director of Sales and General Manager.

Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Participate in sales calls, phone solicitation/prospecting, and market analyses to acquire new business and/or close on business.

Execute and support operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence).

Identify new business opportunities to achieve personal and sales organization goals.

Understand the overall market competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and competitor positioning to shift market share and optimize business profitability.

Establish themselves as subject matter experts; serve the customer by understanding their business, issues, and concerns to offer better solutions.

Support the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

Provide excellent customer service consistent with the daily service of the company.

Set a positive example for guests.

Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.

Work collaboratively with the Sales & Marketing team to promote initiatives.

Submit weekly activity reports.

Log activities, contacts, and communication in Delphi FDC.

Initiate sales agreements on the company’s behalf, aligned with property standards.

Initiate individual resumes as needed (likely an error in original; keep as is). Communicate critical information to internal department stakeholders.

Skills & Knowledge Required

A complete understanding of forecasting, selling, and dynamics of the Brooklyn and greater Manhattan market and competitive set.

Highly motivated individual who can work independently.

Ability to handle confidential information discretely and in the proper manner.

Self‑starter, and possess excellent presentation skills.

Proven track record of successful sales history.

Qualification Standards

Education: A 4‑year bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or a related major is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of sales experience in a luxury hotel environment.

Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat and well‑groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided).

Travel Requirements: This position requires business travel as directed by the Director of Sales.

Salary $70,000 – $90,000
