GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Maintenance Specialist 2 acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. They perform a range of maintenance duties in the building and plant and support the facility team on projects, including mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and electronic devices. These assignments are performed under close supervision of the facility's supervisor/manager and normally follow established procedures on routine work and requires instructions only on new assignments. The Maintenance Specialist 2 works on assignments that are semi‑routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. They may work with outside vendors and will be closely involved in P5S activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports directly to Maintenance Supervisor, may take direction from production management and/or Maintenance mechanic.

Troubleshoots all process and facilities‑related equipment regarding electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical problems.

Assists with all monthly maintenance for all production and facilities equipment when requested.

Maintains all office and administrative maintenance requests in SAP and Outlook.

Performs 5S activities as required daily, weekly, and monthly.

Works in cooperation with other Managers, Engineers, and departmental supervisors on ensuring all equipment is maintained and operational.

Reports any safety problem immediately.

Willingness and open to learn new tasks.

Willing to work on a variety of machines or lines.

All other duties as assigned.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

This position generally works standard business hours; however, additional hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required at times. All overtime will be paid in compliance with applicable California wage and hour laws.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES The following physical activities are representative of those that must be met by an employee: continuously required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS The following work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions: occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
