What We’re Doing
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. We operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include sensor/weapon integration, algorithm development, user interface development, automated testing, cyber security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
The Work
The Interface Engineer will lead authoring the development of ICDs and IDDs, establishing new interfaces between external elements, including sensors, and other command and control systems. They will ensure that ICDs and IDDs meet appropriate program standards, develop behavioral diagrams, create requirements captured in DOORS, and update multiple interface control documents. The Engineer will attend interface working group meetings with the MDA customer and external element engineering organizations, support program integration, test efforts, and may assist other interface engineers with ICD development, requirements engineering, use‑case development, and logical architecture modeling. They will also support spiral leadership to assure interface artifacts and system assessment tasks are completed on schedule.

Requires a government security clearance; candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.
Work is performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Flexible schedule: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.

Basic Qualifications
Final Secret clearance required.
Understanding of systems engineering process and principles.
Proven track record of successfully applying systems engineering principles to develop product solutions.
Experience in requirements elicitation, including the use of behavioral diagrams as an analysis tool to decompose requirements.
Experience authoring ICDs and IDDs that are compliant with DoD standards.
Expertise in requirements engineering and development of behavioral models and diagrams (use‑cases, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams).
Desired Skills
Ability to function as part of an experienced team producing systems engineering products and artifacts in compliance with the SEMP and other processes.
Experience authoring complex command and control systems ICDs and IDDs (highly desirable).
Experience with IBM Rational DOORS (highly desirable).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of RMF‑based cyber security, and experience with Agile or iterative development methods (a plus).

Compensation and Benefits
Annual base salary range (California, MA, NY, Colorado, Hawaii, IL, MD, MN, NJ, VT, WA, DC): $109,200 – $192,510.
