Job Description This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The primary responsibilities encompass a broad range of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families, including one-on‑one counseling, briefings and presentations, and referral resources. The role collaborates closely with installation and branch points of contact to ensure program scope and installation needs are met.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of personal financial management classes/workshops covering various life‑cycle topics, including arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and events outlined in DoDI 1322.34.
Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web‑based, secure online chat, video‑based communications).
Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information on trends and issues.
Participate in regular in‑services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (Associate degree + 4 years experience or High School + 6 years experience may be considered).
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Education & Certifications
High School/GED minimum education required.
License and Certifications required: AFC, CFP, ChFC.
Salary & Benefits Salary range: $53,125 – $84,995 per year. This reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position. Additional incentives may be available, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.
Location Homestead, Florida (Homestead ARB).
