Materials Manager
Our client is a global automotive manufacturer and is seeking a Materials Manager to lead production control, planning, and material flow at a high-volume manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving execution, developing teams, and ensuring customer commitments are met.
What you will be doing as a Materials Manager:
Lead and develop the Production Control / Materials team , setting clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics.
Own
production scheduling, inventory management, warehousing, and shipping/receiving
to support plant and customer requirements.
Translate customer releases into executable production plans aligned with capacity and manpower.
Drive daily accountability with suppliers, planning, production, and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery.
Monitor plant output and inventory performance; resolve shortages, delays, and material issues.
Oversee cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and correct variances.
Ensure compliance with internal manufacturing standards, quality systems, and
OSHA requirements .
Lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen material flow, inventory accuracy, and team effectiveness.
What you will need as a Materials Manager:
7+ years in a management role leading materials, production control, or scheduling teams .
Confident decision-maker able to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.
Strong people leader who builds accountability, engagement, and cross-functional alignment.
Highly organized with strong systems and analytical skills (ERP/MRP experience preferred).
