Summary The Human Resources (HR) Generalist coordinates activities related to Human Resource services to ensure both internal and external operating standards are met. This role is responsible for delivering a broad spectrum of HR services such as employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, training, and HR systems support. The position contributes to the ongoing design and development of HR processes, policies, and methodologies, keeping pace with industry trends and best practices to support operational excellence while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Essential Functions

Coordinate activities related to HR systems, programs, and processes for site operations.

Independently address routine employee relations issues, benefits administration, recruitment, and HR records management.

Analyze and interpret information from exit interviews, accident reports, and benefits claims to inform HR decisions.

Research trends, technologies, and best practices in HR to support continuous process and policy improvement.

Prepare communication materials, manuals, and other written content related to HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.

Maintain current knowledge of HR trends and incorporate new information into operational assignments.

Seek opportunities for mentorship and continuous learning to enhance technical knowledge and skill set, and may mentor junior employees.

Represent the company for employment‑and unemployment‑related claims and proceedings.

Facilitate and deliver workforce training including orientation; conduct corrective action meetings as needed.

Execute all aspects of recruitment including full‑time, part‑time, student, and temporary personnel.

Administer employee benefits, including claims resolution, change reporting, invoice approvals, and communications.

Maintain HRIS records and compile HR reports from database systems.

Support the development and implementation of HR policies and practices as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Skill Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Professional certification in HR (CHRP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.

3-5 years of related HR experience or demonstrated equivalency, with comprehensive understanding of HR functions and local/federal regulations.

Prior experience in the mining industry is preferred.

Strong understanding of Washington state employment laws.

Ability and willingness to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to present information in straightforward scenarios.

Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to work accurately and efficiently with a minimum amount of direct supervision.

Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the US.

Compensation Data Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000.
