With the hospital now open, the full continuum of advanced cancer care‑from prevention through survivorship‑is available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital features 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn't standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

In this role, you will draw blood from COH patients and donors using appropriate procedures, guidelines and standards as well as process specimens for in‑house/send‑out laboratory testing. Working under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, you will provide high‑level support and assistance with a variety of tasks within the laboratory, including but not limited to new staff mentoring, specimen/workflow problem resolution, special request draws, supply ordering and procedure development. Cross‑training in specimen processing as well as bone marrow assist will also encompass this role.

Note: This position involves varying shift times and requires flexibility to meet operational needs 1300‑2130, 1430‑2300. Weekends/Holidays 1330‑2200 rotating on a 3‑week cycle (for example, weekly rotation: Work, On‑Call, OFF).

As a successful candidate, you will:

Draw blood in accordance with physician order using appropriate techniques and equipment.

Greet patients, process the laboratory orders, and direct patients to their next station.

Collect and deliver specimens for analysis, using appropriate or specified equipment for collecting and handling specimens.

Qualifications

High School or equivalent (GED)

Three to five years of experience as a competent phlebotomist

California Phlebotomy Technician license required

CPR (through the American Heart Association)
