Job Summary
Position:
Asphalt Field Mechanic
Location:
Raleigh, NC (open to candidates across NC and surrounding states)
Pay:
$45–$55/hour + $2,500 Sign-On Bonus
Experience:
At least 10 years of hands‑on experience servicing asphalt or heavy equipment
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred
Type:
Full‑time; Direct Hire
Schedule:
Monday–Friday with some Saturdays
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on asphalt equipment in the field
Service pavers, rollers, milling machines, and other asphalt‑related machinery
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and gas/diesel engine systems
Complete emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
Perform equipment inspections and follow manufacturer service guidelines
Test equipment after repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation
Document labor, parts, and services in a maintenance management system
Requirements
Proven field service experience with asphalt or heavy equipment
Advanced diagnostic skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
Reliable, self‑directed, and adaptable to field‑based work
