Retail Banker
for a
Community‑Focused Banking
client in Union City, NJ.
As the face of the branch, the Retail Banker is responsible for delivering world‑class service through proactive client engagement and personalized financial solutions. This role manages the full spectrum of the branch experience—from high‑accuracy transaction processing and account openings to strategic product recommendations. The ideal candidate is a high‑energy, bilingual professional who thrives on building long‑term customer relationships and driving branch growth.
Pay Range $45,000.00/yr – $58,000.00/yr
Job Responsibilities
Client Engagement: Deliver a premium service experience by proactively greeting and assisting clients to understand and meet their unique financial goals.
Account Management: Open new accounts and facilitate applications for deposits, personal loans, and other core financial products.
Transaction Excellence: Process financial transactions with 100% accuracy, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and domestic/international wire transfers.
Financial Advocacy: Promote integrated banking solutions, including savings accounts, lending products, and digital banking tools, to enhance the client's financial well‑being.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all internal policies and federal regulations, specifically BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and KYC (Know Your Customer) standards.
Relationship Building: Conduct periodic follow‑up calls and meetings with customers to cultivate loyalty and ensure long‑term satisfaction.
Collaboration: Partner with team members and internal departments to support branch business development and high‑quality referral growth.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required (Business‑related focus preferred).
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in retail banking, customer service, or sales.
Strong foundational knowledge of retail banking procedures and current financial regulations.
Skills & Languages
Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish) is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort navigating digital banking technology.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a "sales‑oriented" mindset.
Self‑motivated and capable of working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
Work Model & Physical Requirements
Schedule: Full‑time; must be available for shifts Monday through Sunday based on business needs.
Mobility: Ability to travel between nearby branch locations as required.
Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
