General Purpose Analyze market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and customer behavior to evaluate the effectiveness of current pricing models. Conduct regular pricing research and assess pricing implications on business performance. Assist in creating pricing strategies to capture opportunities, drive margin enhancements, and improve sales force effectiveness.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and monitor competitors’ prices, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and market positioning; provide insights and recommendations on competitive pricing responses and market opportunities to help drive financial improvements and support competitive positioning

Utilize, develop, update, and maintain pricing models to facilitate data-driven pricing decisions. Utilize statistical analysis, financial modeling, and pricing software to evaluate pricing scenarios and optimize pricing structures

Assist in the execution of pricing strategies across various product lines and markets, ensuring consistency and accuracy

Review price requests and ensure assumptions align with required margin parameters

Create margin analysis to develop pricing when requested or to resolve pricing issues

Develop weekly price lists and margin targets

Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate pricing performance, findings, and recommendations to management and other stakeholders

Publish price lists as directed

Assist in gathering data for customer profitability analysis and pricing analysis

Analyze and report on target margins by product group/customer classification

Provide price quotes for new and existing business

Review and challenge margins versus marketplace and provide insight to maximize returns

Maintain the pricing table; maintain and/or determine pricing formulas; enter pricing into the pricing table

Analyze customer pricing files to ensure prices are maintained per formulas and exceptions

Research and resolve all price issues for assigned customers or accounts

Participate in monthly price changes which involves calculating and updating customer price files based on changes in relevant commodity market prices, validating price file changes, and notifying customers, brokers, and sales of price change

Coordinate the review of contract/fixed pricing in assigned accounts, and maintain revised pricing

Work with cross-functional teams, such as risk management, sales, marketing, finance, logistics, and customer service, to provide pricing related analysis and to develop and implement effective customer pricing strategies

Provide assistance on customer Requests for Proposal (RFP’s) and other customer opportunities by providing analysis and recommendations

Education and Experience

Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, statistics, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)

2 to 5 years of pricing analysis, financial analysis, or related experience

Knowledge of the dairy industry preferred

Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of pricing concepts, strategies, and methodologies

Familiarity with market research and competitive analysis techniques; able to understand and interpret market trends and customer behavior

Knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company specific systems, especially Excel, statistical analysis tools, and pricing software

Knowledge of ERP systems, including report writing, data extraction, and forecast modeling

Knowledge of accounting, finance, marketing, and operations metrics and reporting

Skilled in quantitative financial analysis techniques, including data manipulation

Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

Able to multi-task and problem solve

Able to create reports and presentations for distribution to management

Able to effectively analyze and interpret data

Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail

Must be able to read, write and speak English

Travel 5%-15% (1-3 times per year)
