Shifts may vary but usually 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM or 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM, 40 hours per week
Rate of Pay:
$11.42 per hour
This position is responsible for:
Accepts and processes residents staying in shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.
Key Responsibilities
Monitors the activities of the shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules
Monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility
Records unique situations occurring on assigned shift
Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective action in accordance with established policies and procedures
Checks clients into the shelter; prepares and monitors client intake cards
Wakes up clients at designated time and ensures that all residents are out of shelter at designated time
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
Ability to respond to emergency situations calmly and quickly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action
Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
Work requires performance of duties in social services environment where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible
