Primary Function of Position As the Dining Room Coordinator, you will provide operational and maintenance support for the dining room, which serves individuals experiencing homelessness. You will assist with cleaning and janitorial work to maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for all guests.
Major Position Responsibilities
Dining Room Setup:
Set up tables and prepare the dining area before meal service.
Main Kitchen Assistance:
Provides general support in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, breaking down boxes, and taking recyclables to the recycling bin.
Meal Service Oversight:
Maintain order and ensure clients follow dining hall rules during meal service and while eating.
Security Communication:
Communicate any safety or security concerns to security staff promptly.
Dining Room Cleanup:
Take down tables, sweep, and mop the floor after meal service.
Volunteer Room Cleanup:
Sweeps and mops floors, and wipes down doors, counters, and other surfaces to maintain a clean and welcoming space.
Restroom Cleaning:
Cleans and restock both kitchen and client restrooms after each meal service, ensuring supplies are replenished and areas remain sanitary.
Volunteer Coordination:
Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to support Easter Seals participants and volunteers to support daily operations.
Grounds Maintenance:
Assist in upkeep of outdoor areas, trash removal, and general grounds care.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including cold and hot temperatures. Employees must use caution when working near icy or slippery surfaces and are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including ear protection, when operating equipment.

Education, Training, and Experience
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
Background Screening Requirement
Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, certifications, and credentials
Food Safety Certifications:
Must possess or be able to obtain a current Salt Lake County Food Handler's Permit.
Position status and expected schedule This position is scheduled to work 28 hours per week on the following days and times:
Sunday: 3 PM - 7 PM
Wednesday: 11 AM - 7 PM
Thursday: 3 PM - 7 PM
Friday: 3 PM - 7 PM
Saturday: 9 AM - 1 PM & 3 PM - 7 PM
