About the Role
We are seeking a
Senior Tax Advisor
to join our growing advisory practice. This is a
client-facing role
responsible for delivering high-quality tax planning, consulting, and advisory support to a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and collaborating directly with clients to solve complex tax issues.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a
trusted advisor
to clients by providing proactive tax planning and consulting services
Lead and support
client meetings, presentations, and tax strategy discussions
Analyze complex tax situations and develop recommendations that align with client goals
Research federal, state, and local tax matters and communicate findings clearly to clients and internal teams
Review or support preparation of business and individual tax filings as needed to support advisory projects
Identify tax-saving opportunities, exposure risks, and compliance implications
Monitor tax law changes and evaluate the impact on client situations
Build and maintain
strong client relationships , ensuring high levels of responsiveness and service
Collaborate with internal partners across assurance, consulting, and tax compliance teams
Mentor and support junior tax professionals on technical and client-service topics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA, EA, JD, or MST strongly preferred
5+ years of progressive tax experience
in public accounting or advisory services
Strong technical knowledge of
federal and state tax laws
for individuals and businesses
Prior
client-facing experience
required
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and client relationships
Proficiency with tax research tools and tax preparation software
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
