Office Location: Abilene, Texas, United States
Scope/Contacts Under the general direction of the Loan Review Manager, the incumbent prepares written quality evaluations of complex commercial and consumer loans and commitments. These evaluations include assessments of the borrower's financial condition, the borrower's performance, administration of the loan officer, the sufficiency of documentation, profitability, and compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements. This position has extensive contact with the company's lending and loan support staff and moderate customer contact with potential borrowing customers. The incumbent must be able to express himself/herself in a clear and concise manner.
Essential Functions
The incumbent is responsible for preparing comprehensive risk analyses of complex loans and commitments.
Proficiency as a subject matter expert for complex lending.
Evaluates documentation for complex commercial and consumer loans and commitments.
Communicates effectively with co‑workers, customers, lending staff, etc.
Identifies potential problems and recommends effective solutions.
Must be self‑motivated, professional, and maintain confidentiality.
Manages tasks within the department to ensure deadlines are met.
Assists in the training of Level 1 & 2 Analysts on the loan review department's responsibilities.
Actively supports the values of the organization, follows established bank policies and procedures, and complies with laws and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business related field with a minimum of 9 hours of accounting classes (preferred Intermediate Accounting I & II).
Successful completion of the Analyst Program (both Credit Analysis & Loan Review) or two (2) or more years prior experience in a credit analysis, underwriting, structuring, and portfolio management.
Completion of RMA’s Credit Risk Certification (CRC).
Demonstrated above‑average written and oral communication skills.
Ability to logically organize and interpret information from multiple sources.
Ability to analyze complex financial statements.
Ability to use personal discretion in time management and workload management with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of commercial bank operations and lending.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to determine a course of action and carry it out.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, dependability and thoroughness in meeting responsibilities, and willingness to seek out and accept responsibilities.
Must be familiar with PCs and PC software, specifically Excel and Word.
