About The Role As a Centralized Leasing Specialist on Elmington’s Centralized Operations team, you will support leasing efforts for affordable housing communities across the country. This is a remote role where you will use your leasing experience, and ideally knowledge of LIHTC programs, to help ensure communities stay leased, compliant, and on track.

In this role, you will support multiple properties by assisting with applications, leasing activity, and compliance requirements. Your work directly impacts occupancy and helps each community meet its financial and operational goals. You will be part of a fast‑paced, collaborative team that uses a centralized approach to simplify communication and move applications forward efficiently. We are looking for leasing professionals who enjoy helping others and take pride in providing a great experience for future residents. This role is a strong fit for someone who is self‑motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a high‑volume, remote environment.

Details Centralized Leasing hours:

Monday‑Sunday, 8am‑8pm

Current Shift Options:

9am‑6pm, 10am‑7pm, 11am‑8pm

Incentives:

$150 per move in

Weekend Availability Is Required

A two‑week paid training period is required at our corporate office, located in Nashville, TN.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, leadership, and residents.

Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to guide a team.

Advanced proficiency in property management software and compliance platforms.

Ability to stay updated on evolving compliance regulations and proactively adjust workflows.

A passion for chasing excellence and providing exemplary customer service.

Essential Job Functions

Respond to new lead inquiries via phone, email, text, and live chat in a timely and professional manner.

Provide potential residents with accurate information about available apartment homes, leasing terms, and application processes.

Assist applicants in filling out their rental applications and explain the required documentation to ensure that all necessary documents are submitted for compliance review.

Communicate with applicants to collect missing documents and follow up regularly on outstanding items required for the application and compliance processes.

Provide regular updates on the progress of applications and compliance reviews. Communicate any issues or delays and offer guidance to help applicants resolve concerns.

Work closely with the Compliance Specialists to ensure all applications are thoroughly reviewed and meet regulatory requirements.

Log all communications and updates in the company’s CRM system, ensuring accurate record‑keeping for each applicant and interaction.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Specific Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Minimum of (1) year of experience in property management and/or customer service focused call center.

Affordable LIHTC leasing experience is required.

Ability to understand and carry out industry‑specific written and oral direction with a positive, innovative approach to problem‑solving.

Presents information in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner; negotiate, persuade, and modify opinion to reach the goals/objectives of the organization.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Frequently sit, stand and walk.

Regularly required to talk or hear.

Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.

Travel Requirement Travel up to 10% of the time.
