Vehicle Fleet Mechanic II (On‑Site)
We are seeking a highly skilled and diagnostic‑minded vehicle fleet mechanic. You will maintain and repair a range of utility equipment, including skid steers, dozers, bucket trucks, and cranes, to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, and maintain vehicles, bucket trucks, cranes, aerial devices, pressure diggers, material handling equipment, hydraulic tools, and off‑road construction equipment.
Perform machine‑shop repairs by remanufacturing parts or equipment to manufacturer specifications, and operate shop machines such as drill presses, band saws, planers, lathes, milling and grinding machines.
Conduct visual, operational, and safety inspections per manufacturer, DOT, ANSI, and OSHA standards.
Verify parts, equipment, and staff availability for maintenance and repair duties.
Document all changes, work logs, and communications with other team members and supervisors.
Operate handheld and power tools, and aerial bucket equipment (man lifts, jib lifts, bucket trucks) and cranes (mobile, forklifts, facility).
Travel independently or with a small crew to substations, power plants, or water systems as scheduled.
Qualifications
Two or more years of mechanical, hydraulic, auto‑body, welding, or metal‑fabrication experience on vehicles and heavy equipment.
A degree in mechanical maintenance or a relevant field may substitute for experience as per company guidelines.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Certifications
ASE certification in relevant test series.
Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic (MHM) certification from the International Fluid Power Society.
Welding certification meeting ASM E‑709/4G standards.
Manufacturer‑specific certifications related to this position.
