Position: Mortgage Underwriter
Location: Jacksonville, FL (In-Office Only)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: $37–$42/hour
Our client is seeking experienced Mortgage Underwriters to support high-volume underwriting operations. This is a full-time, in-office role requiring strong attention to detail, solid underwriting fundamentals, and the ability to meet strict client review standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite residential mortgage loans in accordance with established guidelines
Review and analyze loan files, including income, assets, credit, and collateral
Utilize AUS systems such as DU and LP
Ensure compliance with investor, agency, and internal underwriting standards
Clearly document underwriting decisions and conditions
Maintain accuracy and quality in a fast-paced production environment
Training Requirement: New hires must be available full-time during training and cannot miss time off during this period.
Qualifications:
Prior mortgage underwriting experience required
Experience underwriting residential mortgage loans
Familiarity with AUS systems such as DU and LP
FHA (DE) or VA (SAR) designation preferred but not required
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to work on-site in Jacksonville, FL
