Job Summary The Account Manager II manages a book of insurance business and provides professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. They manage complex risk and exposures with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making. The Account Manager II also supports Producers and other support staff in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. Responsibilities
Work closely with Producers and other HUB personnel on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal while adhering to HUB’s best practices and standard procedures. Provide professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, contributing to a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations. Oversee (and perform when needed) the preparation and implementation of transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts. Includes acting as Back-up for other support staff members. Acquire understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyze and compare insurance plans to determine suitability. Coordinate the implementation of the client’s strategic plan, including value-added services such as Pre-Renewal Strategic Planning, Risk ID Assessments, Contract Reviews, Claims Reviews (in coordination with Claims Management), Market Analysis, Stewardship Reports, Deductible Analysis, and coordinating value-added services from Risk Services and Claims Management Divisions. Act as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues requiring policy interpretation and judgment; negotiate with underwriters and carriers; troubleshoot claims and billing issues. Identify opportunities for cross-sell and upsell of HUB products and services; document other insurance products the client is purchasing through other providers and who those providers are. May be responsible for account rounding and development of new business as appropriate and in accordance with standard practices and procedures. In conjunction with the producer or independently, manage, organize, and conduct client meetings. Maintain accurate and organized account files by documenting conversations and updating HUB computer systems and agency management systems; ensure data accuracy. Prepare reports, proposals, and comparisons for management as required. Stay current with changes in the insurance industry and external conditions that may impact clients; make appropriate recommendations; attend industry-related continuing education. Oversee functions performed by less experienced Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers as required. Support, mentor, and train other support staff members. Provide a high level of support to Sales staff in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED 5+ years of account management experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience Property & Causality License Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and agency management systems Critical thinking: ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry Confidence and demeanor to interact with all levels within the organization Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships; work effectively with insurance and service vendors to meet client needs Ability to respond to customer needs, solicit feedback, and handle difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and accurately Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks to complete assignments on time and with accuracy Ability to work with a team and coach others in developing their skills Problem solving: ability to identify complex problems and evaluate options to implement solutions What You Bring to the Table
You are perfect for this opportunity if you Hold a high school diploma/GED (college degree strongly preferred) Have at least 3+ years of related commercial lines insurance experience within a brokerage environment Are currently licensed in good standing Have the confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization Are computer literate - Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Salary & Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000/yr, depending on geographic location and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
