The Dealer Relationship Specialist acts as a liaison to our indirect dealer partners on behalf of the Credit Union. The Dealer Relationship Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining an indirect lending program that increases penetration in the indirect auto market that is in line with the Credit Union’s strategic objectives. Build and enhance relationships between the Credit Union and new and existing dealers. Review and analyze dealership performance and monitor the Credit Union’s indirect loan portfolio performance. Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for the growth of BHFCU’s dealer network by researching dealers not utilizing BHFCU, educating dealers on our program to determine fit, and signing new dealers up to utilize BHFCU’s indirect program. Responsible for the generation and growth of loan volume within an assigned territory. Develop and sustain an indirect lending program that increases penetration among dealer partners consistent with the Credit Union’s growth objectives. Monitor dealership performance and proactively engage inactive or underperforming dealer partners. Apply creativity and problem‑solving skills to drive results and exceed goals. Maximize penetration levels in dealerships through performance ratios by continually tracking applications, approvals, bookings, and quality of submissions/paperwork. Provide remote customer service and training to dealership personnel. Support cross‑sell opportunities. Identify, suggest, and implement marketing opportunities and programs. Routinely visit dealers to promote lending products and programs to dealers to increase overall understanding of, and familiarity with Credit Union products. Grow and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with new and existing dealerships in person, via phone, email, and video conferencing. Responsible to stay current on competitor programs to include rate changes, market developments, news, and trends. Other Duties/Responsibilities

Keep management informed of any dealer issues. Serve as liaison between dealers and Credit Union staff while working toward resolutions, including correcting contract errors, titling issues, collecting dealer charge backs and negative reserves. Meet with dealers regularly to define expectations, review results, and identify areas of improvement. Review and analyze dealership performance and monitor the Credit Union’s indirect loan portfolio performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Knowledge

Working knowledge of the credit union’s products and services. Working knowledge of credit union’s policies/procedures and service philosophy. Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion. Working knowledge of credit union’s in‑house computer system / Internet. Working knowledge of state and federal consumer lending regulations. Job Qualifications (Skills)

Ability to present a professional and personable personality that communicates to members and visitors that the credit union is a professional financial institution. Ability to work within precise standardized guidelines with some latitude to make decisions and take initiative to resolve problems or unique circumstances. Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)

Job requires a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills. 3–5 years of dealership experience in Finance and Insurance, auto sales or related industry preferred. This position must possess and maintain a current, valid drivers license. Working Conditions

Material and Equipment Involved In‑House Computer System / Internet Personal Computer Various Software Applications Work Environment/Physical Activities

Job requires the employee to regularly drive long distances, in daylight and darkness, stand for periods of time up to 60 minutes; sit for periods of 4–8 hours, enter, and exit a vehicle several times throughout assigned working hours. The job will require multiple overnight stays throughout the month. The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a degree of attention to details. Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6–8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate‑controlled shared work area with moderate noise. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
