Manager, Property Accounting

With our property portfolio rapidly scaling we are seeking a self‑motivated, property accounting professional to add to our growing team. In this highly visible and dynamic position, working closely with the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day accounting functions required to produce monthly GAAP financial statements for properties managed by Evergreen. The role may also assist with corporate level accounting transactions.
This is an office‑based position based in Dallas, TX with a hybrid schedule.
The Role:
Coordinate and complete annual audits and provide support.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Record and review monthly adjusting and accrual entries in accordance with GAAP.
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reports for all properties for internal use and distribution to partners and clients.
Prepare and review the fee schedules for various funds in accordance with management agreements.
Prepare and review the lease schedules in accordance with ASC‑842.
Record and reconcile the investments in associates in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure compliance with Fund/Client partnership agreements and investor side letters.
Lead in hiring and mentor, coach and motivate a team of accountants. Team members may include outsourced support based in Columbia South America.
Assist as needed with auditors for the year‑end audit process.
Adhere to internal controls surrounding financial reporting and compliance.
Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a CPA.
5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years of team‑management experience.
Understanding of US GAAP, financial processes and internal controls.
Experience in real estate and real‑estate property level accounting is strongly preferred.
Analytical thinking, ability to manage large volumes of transactional data.
Accuracy and timeliness in the completion of assigned work.
Strong work ethic.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency with Excel, experience with ERP systems like NetSuite & Yardi.
Adaptability in a highly dynamic working environment.
Good problem‑solving skills - able to think outside the box.
Spanish fluency, while not required, would be advantageous.
