Schedule: 3x12s with rotating weekends and holidays. We have openings on both day and night shifts with shifts that run from 0445-1645 and 1645-0445.
How you'll contribute
A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role provides cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include: Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per care plan. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment. Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. License: UT Respiratory Care Practitioner. NBRC CRT or RRT. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
