Responsibilities ECS is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Enclosure Associate III to join our Mid‑Atlantic Facilities team in Roanoke, VA. In this role, you’ll lead projects involving inspections, testing, assessments, and commissioning of building enclosures for existing structures. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality consulting solutions to a diverse range of facilities and clients.
Testing and consulting services for the built environment, property condition assessments, specialized testing, building enclosure consulting, forensic investigation analysis, and design of repairs to existing structures, among other facilities‑related services
Management of projects including but not limited to:
Inspections of building enclosures
Building enclosure testing
Building enclosure assessments
Air leakage testing
Construction quality assurance observations
Roofing assessments
Design specification review
Field performance testing
Building enclosure commissioning consulting
Exhibiting responsibility, organization, reliability, time management, and self‑motivation
Occasional field and laboratory testing
Interacting with senior staff members on a variety of projects
Preparing reports and proposals
Maintaining and developing a client database
Managing budgets and preparing invoices
Mentoring other staff
Promoting a safe workplace and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
B.Arch or M.Arch (NCARB) accredited by National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or BS in Engineering, Building Science, or a related degree from an ABET‑accredited college/university preferred
2+ years of relevant building facilities consulting experience required
Licensed or certified as at least one of the following preferred:
Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Registered Architect (R.A.)
International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) offered RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP
University of Wisconsin‑Madison offered BECxP and CxA+BE
