An Autism Associate is a professional who works with children and adolescents receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to implement their intervention plans working under close, ongoing supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Job duties and responsibilities:
Provide direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in one-on-one and group settings to children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Assist BCBAs as directed with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition plans.
Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols called for in treatment plans.
Collect, record, and summarize data about clients’ behaviors through direct observation.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with a treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, and co-workers
Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings and professional development events
Requirements:
Experience working with children
Experience working with children or adolescents with autism or special needs (preferred)
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) granted by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (preferred, but not required)
